Chicago Slaughter vs. Fort Wayne Freedom Continental Indoor Football League Championship (CIFL) Game Preview

Chicago Slaughter Stars Russ Michna, Donovan Morgan, and Bobby Sippio

Russ Michna, Donovan Morgan, and Bobby Sippio lead the Chicago Slaughter offense, quite possibly the most powerful offense in all of indoor/arena football. The Slaughter look to complete a perfect season by winning the Continental Indoor Football League Championship tonight at home in the Sears Center against the Fort Wayne Freedom.

Fort Wayne Freedom - Hutchison, Stroder, Selent

Fort Wayne Freedom football stars - QB Randy Hutchison, WR Luther Stroder, and K Brad Selent will do all they can do to try to match Chicago point for point in their bid to upset the heavily favored Chicago Slaughter for the CIFL Championship in Hoffman Estates.

CIFL - David Gater and Randy Hutchison

The Kalamazoo connection will need to play the their best game of the year for the Fort Wayne Freedom to have a shot at winning the CIFL title.  Pictured above are David Gater, the 2008 Continental Indoor Football League MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, and star indoor quarterback Randy Hutchison. Hutch and Gater played in the CIFL Championship game last year, eventually falling the Saginaw Sting. Hutchison and Gater will both need to step up their game, and make minimal mistakes, if they are to have a chance in this championship game.

Former Xplosion players - Muscle, Selent, and Body

Gater and Hutchison are not the only Kzoo players suiting up for the Freedom this year, also on the Fort Wayne roster are WR Dan Musielewicz, and kicker Brad Selent. Not only do the Freedom have a ton of talent playing for them off of the now defunct Kalamazoo Xplosion squad, they also have the big stud WR off of the 2008 CIFL Champion Saginaw Sting roster, Nick Body. Body is true indoor football star, and if he has a good day he can easily put Bobby Sippio or Donovan Morgan like numbers on the board. Body will be one to watch, and indeed he will need to play big if the Freedom are to have a chance.

Big Play Reggie Gray, the best #3 receiver in the league Dontrell Action Jackson, and the best kicker in the league Chris Nendick

Sippio, Morgan, and Michna are certainly not the only Chicago weapons the Fort Wayne Freedom defense must contain to be successful against the Slaughter tonight. Chicago features the best KR man in the league, Big Play Reggie Gray, the best #3 (could play #1 on other indoor squads) receiver in the league Dontrell Action Jackson, and the best kicker in the league, Chris Nendick.

Coach Bob McMillen, defensive coordinator Keith Hac, and head football coach Steve Mongo McMichael

The Chicago Slaughter coaching staff has put together a perfect 13-0 Season and now only one win stands between them and the CIFL Championship. Pictured above are coach Bob McMillen, defensive coordinator Keith Hac, and head football coach Steve Mongo McMichael. Mongo has had a great year so far, and if Hac's defense can contain Hutchison's passing attack then Mongo truly will have posted a season for the ages that all Slaughter football fans will remember forever.
